We would like to welcome our Preschool children back to Preschool and offer a very warm welcome to our new children.

The first few weeks of this half term will be settling the new children in and establishing routines.

We have had a great start to the new school year Introducing some new elements to work along side Michaelchurch Escley Primary School.

We have introduced "Mind Up" a mindful approach to learning, Staff had training at the end of the Summer Term with ongoing online update training and a follow up in the Spring Term.  The programme runs throughout the year with all the different year groups.  Preschool have incorporated some of the Mindful activities into their daily routine, which includes learning how to calm ourselves down with breathing techniques, having a glitter bottle which we all made together and practicing using our senses, the first sense this term is listening and sounds. we will be moving on to taste, touch, sight and smells as we approach Christmas.

As always we follow the seasons, saying goodbye to the Summer and watching the beautiful colours arrive for the Autumn and getting colder ready for the winter months.

Each week we have been learning about a different phonics sound and a colour, over the first part of the Autumn Term we have listened to the sounds that the letters s,a,t,i,p & n make and have found the colours red, blue, yellow, purple, green and orange in our environments.   The children have been enjoying mixing the primary colours together in different ways to make the seconday ones.

These themes run thought our Forest School days and are incorporated into a nature activity and we have seen the children making Conker spider webs and teasel hedgehogs as well as going on sound walks, we have been able to find the colours each week on our trees and plants and even made some yellow die using the budlia tree.
